Hi Everyone,
It's HOT outside (100+ degrees here in Seattle - eek!), and we are receiving lots of calls about ways to stay cool while wearing a hair replacement system. The first question I ask is, "Is your wig construction hand-tied or wefted?" Wefted construction is typically heavier. If you're currently wearing a wefted system, I urge you to schedule a free consultation to take a look at an all hand-tied hair replacement system. Hand-tied wigs are lighter, the construction is more breathable, and it makes a huge difference in your comfort level - especially on hot days. Additionally, if you have a polyurethane base material, you may want to consider ordering a new system with either a mono-filament mesh or lace construction base - these are both more breathable and add additional ventilation.
Also - I blogged about this before, but it bears repeating, the "Cool Gel Comfy Grip" Therapeutic head band is GREAT for keeping cool. It creates space between your hair system and your scalp, allowing for increased airflow. You can also put it in the freezer to make it cold and delicious before placing it around your head in lieu of tape. My clients love that it feels softer and more comfortable on their bare scalp.
The Comfy Grip will:
•Prevent Pressure Sores
•Dissipate Body Heat
•Reduce Skin Shear
•Conforms to Help Cushion Pressure Points
•Will not Absorb Body Fluids or Oils
• Self-healing, Will Not Leak if Punctured
As always, we welcome your comments and suggestions.
